what a weekend....

i had a wonderful weekend. it was full of hanging with friends, meeting new babies, derby and paintball.

we started the weekend by meeting our friend's brand new baby boy, sebastian. he is such a little cutie. i can't wait to hold him! after we visited with his mama, loreana, we headed to fuzzy's for dinner. i could eat at fuzzy's every week.... i love their queso. LOVE. sam, ashley and i all went to get new tops for the show we were going to. we found some and grabbed dave and met brandon at the curtain club. brandon wanted to see butch clancy. i'm not really a fan of dub-step, but i will mostly try anything once. it was interesting to say the least. (my head is still pounding)....the best part of the night had to be while waiting in the ladies room. this girl bursts in and takes the first available stall. little does she know that the toilet is flooded along with the floor around her. when sam comes out of her stall, this crazy girl slinks down and does a weird slither into the next stall... probably to throw up. i wish i had gotten it on video... sam and ashley ended up on stage dancing with butch clancy. they are pretty cool chicks.

saturday, i was lazy all day mentally preparing for our bout. i watched some dumb tv that i had missed while at practice all week and decided that i would go to good to go taco for a little donkey burrito. it was soooooo good. i took a nap and then when i woke up, it was time to head to dad's to set up for the bout. we played austin's firing squad. it was a lot of fun. probably the hardest we have ever played. we lost by 12 points. after the bout, we headed to the san fransico rose for the after party. there was some awful karaoke going on, but it didn't matter. i met my first derby celebrity! fifi nomenon was there! i got a picture to make greta jealous... (love you greta, wish you had been there)

sunday was the day of our team photo shoot. we did it at a paintball field owned by one of our team mates's brothers. we got our photos taken and then we played. i have the biggest bruises ever on my legs. i only played once before and i don't remember it hurting that much... well, my memory betrayed me. i am still sore!

no matter who you vote for, VOTE!

vote

your vote is your voice. if you don't exercise your right as an american to vote, then you can complain. i have only been able to vote in three elections, but each time i do, i feel very fortunate to have that right. i can pick whomever i want. it's my vote. i get to pick a person who i feel will work for me. i don't even have to tell you who i vote for. it's private.

every.vote.counts. you need to vote. make your voice heard. maybe one day, we will have 3 names on a ballot! (hi, libs!) vote because people fought for your right to vote. keep the past alive and vote for the future.

vote for your body... need i say more about that?

vote for your safety. leaders have different opinions on things like gun control and foreign policies.

vote to keep your money, or to spend it, whichever you prefer. remember, there are things on the ballot that have nothing to do with who is going to be living in the white house.... things like street repair proposals  and voting to give money for new parks etc. things that matter in your community that your tax dollars will pay for.

vote for the people that can't, like your kids. things you vote for now can/will impact their future. just keep that in mind.

lastly, know what your candidate supports and doesn't support. check your facts. if you don't vote, you can't complain... it's your job to vote. we need your vote for a decision to be made.

Here are some great facts that were checked as factcheck.org calls it "Whoppers of 2012, The Final Edition"
