What a Lovely Christmas it was...[Image Heavy]

I love Christmastime. I love the time spent with family, the good food, and the memories made. I am lucky enough to work in an industry that allows time off for holidays and such, and I am very thankful for that.
I was off on Christmas Eve, but Dave had to work. Dave and I opened our presents from one another before he went into work. He got me an awesome Adidas hoodie and scarf. I LOVE them. He also got me a Local Natives vinyl and some 8mm film for my camera. I got him a Don Cabbalerro vinyl, a book about backyard boat building and a new pair of Adidas. Our gift to each other was a Wii with Mario Kart and Super Mario... We gave that to ourselves early though...I spent the morning baking, cleaning and packing for our long weekend away from home. I baked walnut brownies and key-lime pie bars, nothing fancy, both from a box, but still, it feels good to bake on Christmas, you know? I loaded up the car and picked Dave up from work and we headed to my grandma's house. We all ate and then opened presents. We all got really nice things and everyone was generous. After a while, we headed down the street to my parents' house to open presents there. Mom and Dad loved their gifts from us, and I think that my little brother liked his as well. Mom and Dad got Dave and I a fire pit! We can't wait to use it! After visiting with my parents for a while, we headed over to the bestie's house. We were going to spend the night there. My friend Matt, was home from being overseas so it was great visiting with him. In Christmas morning, Dave and I woke up and got on the road. We stopped at 7-11 for a quick, unhealthy breakfast [I was extremely hungover]. Then we got to my parents' house and followed them out to my grandpa's house. It had been a while since I had seen him, so it was a good visit. From there, we drove out to Dave's mom's house. Pretty much as soon as we got there, we made her open her present, which was what she wanted, a BB gun. She was so excited and already knew how to use it.  We got there around 3 and she was cooking the ham. I helped her by making the potatoes [purple mashed and roasted]. Dave decided that he needed to take in his sweat pants... so he did... 4 inches! Niena headed to her niece's house for a bit. While she was gone, James and Brittany arrived. Niena came back while we were eating [she told us to go ahead and start eating because she eaten at her niece's house] James was real antsy for Niena to open her present. When she finally did, we saw why. Inside of her little present box was a set of blue booties with a sono picture. James and Brittany are having a boy! Niena was overjoyed and we were all happy. What a great present! After that, we all opened our presents from Niena and our presents from each other. We all pitched in to get Dave's brother a bass and he loved it as far as I can tell. We stayed the night and woke up to a very nice breakfast from Niena. We had to rush off though, because Dave had to work... So, that's what we did... Whew... And now, the photos....

A Year in Review: April, May and June

Continuing on with my review of the past year, let's move on...

We kicked off April with Easter at the Barn..This is a tradition in my family. All of the parents and older kids hide a bunch of eggs in the horse pasture and then we let the kids loose to go and find them. They always have such a blast! Here are a few shots from that...

Easter 2010

Sam and I got to go to the MUSink Festival that was held at Fair Park. It was a combo of music and tattoos. We mostly wanted to go to see The Used. We both just loved them in high school and we honestly still do. We met Corey Miller and we also met Bert McCracken from The Used! He was so totally cool. I got my nose pierced and Sam got a derm in her neck under her ear. We really had a blast...

And then, we celebrated Ashley's last night as a single lady at her bachelorette party. We got a hotel room and we just had a blast.

There was a lot going on with Ashley and Robert's wedding just being around the corner. The Thursday before the wedding, we went to the rehearsal dinner. I didn't snap any photos from this... That Sunday, they got married. It was such a beautiful ceremony. There was even a few moments with comic release. The reception was equally enjoyable. Overall, it was just a really great time.

Dave's band also got the opportunity to film a video for their song "Balrog 24/7". It was pretty fun watching the Luu Brothers work and here is the finished product!

I guess not much else happened in June... Stay tuned for July, August and September!
